The Oregon Association of REALTORS® will be offering their Green Designation course at the RMLS™ office in Portland October 12-14, 2015. Attendees can use these courses to obtain and use the National Association of REALTORS® Green Designation. Up to 18 hours of CE credit is available over three days, including the following classes:

Monday, October 12th
Green 100: Real Estate for a Sustainable FutureThis course will help attendees understand the role of real estate in finding the balance between people, planet, and prosperity. This course educates attendees on the wide array of nationally recognized certifications and ratings programs that evaluate homes, products, energy efficiency, and professionals.

Tuesday, October 13th
Green 200:The Science of Green Building
This course will familiarize attendees with green principles and choices in home design and construction; raise awareness of innovative materials, systems, and construction methods; educate about energy-efficient systems like onsite power generation; and distinguish levels and cost/benefits of retrofitting, remodeling, or renovating existing homes.

Wednesday, October 14th
Green 300: Greening Your Real Estate Business
This course gives real estate professionals the training needed to represent today’s sellers and buyers, teaching the skills green-minded REALTORS® need to utilize a new knowledge.

Thinking about running for office? The Oregon Association of REALTORS® is hosting a free training session for REALTORS® and REALTOR®-friendly candidates on Friday, July 18th in Salem.

Candidate Training Academy was developed to give potential political candidates an introduction to and expectation of how to run for office. It gives candidates a valuable head start on their political journey as well as information on running a successful campaign.

This session is free, but registration is required before Monday, July 14th at noon! Register on the Oregon Association of REALTORS® website.

The Oregon Association of REALTORS® (OAR) will be holding an annual convention this year, for the first time since 2007.

Stampede to Success will be taking place in Sunriver, OR, September 25-28th. The convention promises a variety of networking opportunities, educational events, and fun. Featured speakers include Dr. Lawrence Yun of the National Association of REALTORS®; Karel Murray, a real estate expert and humorist; and Jeff Beals, an author and motivational speaker.

RMLS™ will be in attendance at the convention, including having a booth at the trade show.

Instead of producing our usual RMLS™ Fall Trade Fair event, we’ll be joining forces with OAR and other Oregon MLS organizations at the trade show, which will have over 40 vendors. SentriLock will be in attendance as well—if you still haven’t had the chance to view the new SentriLock lockbox system, the trade show will be your last chance before our exchange events begin!
