We sometimes get reports of homes being entered into RMLSweb<\/em> as detached homes, when they are in fact, attached (or vice versa). \u00a0We realize this can be confusing at times, so let’s briefly review the attached v. detached question.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s start with the textbook definitions<\/a>:<\/p>\n

“Attached: An element of the residence\u2019s construction (such as a wall, ceiling, or floor) is shared with another property. Condominiums excluded.”\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

“Detached: A stand-alone residence, excluding manufactured homes, for which the sale includes the land on which the residence is located.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Now \u2013 remember how your teachers would have you come up with acrostic poems<\/a>? It’s when you take each letter of your name or a word & you have to use it as the first letter in each line of the poem (here are instructions on how to write an acrostic poem<\/a>… in \u00a0case you wanted to know). \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

We came up with one each for Attached & Detached houses to help you remember the difference!<\/p>\n

T<\/strong>hings, such\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

A<\/strong>s<\/p>\n

H<\/strong>ouses,<\/p>\n

E<\/strong>specially \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

D<\/strong>uplexes<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

DETACHED:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

D<\/strong>isconnected from\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

E<\/strong>veryone, especially from<\/p>\n

T<\/strong>hose<\/p>\n

A<\/strong>djacent buildings,<\/p>\n

C<\/strong>onstruction, and\u00a0<\/p>\n

H<\/strong>ousing. But, connected to<\/p>\n

E<\/strong>arth and<\/p>\n

D<\/strong>irt\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ok, I’m aware that acrostic poems probably won’t be particularly helpful in remembering what’s attached v. detached, but just let this silly attempt at a mnemonic device serve\u00a0as a reminder to be cogniscent<\/span> cognizant of the issue when entering listings.
