RMLS™ is combining forces with HomeSpotter to bring an easy-to-use mobile app to RMLS™ subscribers on Monday, September 12th.
Activating the HomeSpotter app will give instant access to RMLSweb listing information to RMLS™ subscribers out in the field. HomeSpotter offers a simple interface for ease of use, and can call up details on a listing in less time than it takes to sign in to RMLSweb.
HOMESPOTTER FEATURES
HomeSpotter can easily find listings by typing in a MLS number, address, city, or ZIP code.
The app can also use location data to display a map of nearby listings that have been on the market over the last year. Zooming in on the map will reveal more listings than can be seen in the top-level view.
If all else fails, HomeSpotter can even use your phone’s camera and location to pinpoint a listing that’s right in front of you! Activate this feature, navigate the screen to the property in question, and HomeSpotter will deliver listing information in a flash.
HomeSpotter’s other tools include a menu item to quickly access your own listings, access to the RMLSweb agent roster to connect with with another RMLS™ subscriber, and a handy mortgage calculator.
SOUND INTERESTING?
Download HomeSpotter on your mobile device through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Activate your account with a unique activation code found on RMLSweb by clicking on “Homespotter” under the Toolkit menu.
Downloading the app and using this service is completely free to RMLS™ subscribers.
JOIN A WEBINAR
HomeSpotter will hold two training webinars next week to give RMLS™ subscribers a guided tour of the app. Sign up for a webinar on Tuesday, September 13th at 2:00pm-2:30pm or Thursday, September 15th from 10:00am-10:30am. HomeSpotter will give a demonstration of the app and then open the floor to questions from the group.
If you’re in need of a friendly mobile option for referring to RMLSweb listings, we hope you’ll find HomeSpotter an invaluable tool.
I am not seeing the activation code under the toolkit menu. Can you please email that to me?
The HomeSpotter menu item is now live on RMLSweb. When you navigate to that menu item on RMLSweb, the access code given is unique to you, generated from HomeSpotter. This means RMLS™ staff cannot provide an access code.
Hello Cindy, We identified an issue where some codes were not generated for some subscribers. Your one-time access code is now available and I will also email it to you momentarily.
Is it more robust than rpr?
HomeSpotter is a great tool to use for obtaining information on properties quickly. If you would like to learn more about the differences between HomeSpotter and RPR our Training Department would be happy to help any questions you have. They can be reached at training@rmls.com.
Great app. Pulls data fast and very user friendly. I’d like to see a days back filter when searching for sold comps.
How do we get more fields to be added? I would like to see the owner’s name and phone number so when the private remarks say to call or text the owner, I can get that information through Homespotter.
Hello Alyssa, We are collecting suggestions from subscribers regarding what additional fields they would find useful within HomeSpotter. I will be sure to include your suggestions.
I ditto Alyssa’s request – the app really falls short if I have to go into rmls to get the info to show. Good for my clients but not much use for me. Missed the Sept webinar – additional ones coming up?
Thanks !
Hello Karen, The showing information can be found in the listing detailed view under the “Agent Information” section. Also HomeSpotter recorded the webinar that took place on 9/13 which is now available to our subscribers to watch at anytime.
Awesome Christina, kudos for quick response to our (Realtors) needs and also to my post !
Thanks
Just downloaded the app and watched the webinar. It seems great (but agree that we need contact info/showing instructions to show too) but it would be even better if my clients could use the app too (sans agent only info)–many of my buyers rely on Redfin to find homes by map and I would like to offer them this alternative.
I am not able to get my activation code to work. I copy and paste the code and I have tried typing it in letter by letter and it keeps saying code is wrong. So I cannot tell how great the program is or isn’t. How do i get help with this?
We’ll have the RMLS™ Help Desk get in touch and figure it out!
If we are with a client and see something of interest on this app the first questions will be 1) can we go see it, and 2) how long has it been on the market/what is the history? Without seller contact info and the listing history at our fingertips we have to go to another source – which doesn’t seem impressive to our clients when we are clicking on multiple sources to find out the most basic information
I see the owner name/phone number now, sorry – that’s great. The price history would be the next priority for me for available info
I am loving this app – works great in the field and makes setting showings a breeze because you can text agents right from the app. I beg RMLS to activate the feature that allows us to text and email properties directly to clients from the app. After spending much time “troubleshooting” with HomeSpotter, they indicated that RMLS is the only user that has not activated that use. Would be so nice to be able to text the listing…format is perfect for text or email…many clients don’t like opening links or won’t go to the trouble if they don’t see a picture right away.
